This Open Studio is part of Harvard ArtLab’s ongoing support of student-led, interdisciplinary creative research. Knitted Light and Responsive Textiles presents an early-stage prototype and a public opportunity to encounter—and respond to—new material explorations at the intersection of art and engineering.
During this Open Studio, Harvard student researchers will invite visitors to engage with a series of knitted light sculptures developed across the Bertoldi Lab, the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and Harvard ArtLab. Feedback gathered through these interactions will inform future iterations of the work, advancing research at the edges of material science, responsive systems, and artistic practice.
