Allston Brighton CDC is holding a virtual Homebuying 101 class. By taking Homebuying 101, you’ll have access to first-time homebuyer loans with low interest rates and low down payment requirements. The certificate you receive from completing the course is also required for down payment or closing cost assistance programs that may be offered in the city or town in which you are buying. This class is for anyone who is interested in buying their first home, whether you are already in the midst of the process or just starting to think about homeownership.

• Budgeting, Savings & Credit
• Obtaining a Mortgage
• Housing Search
• The Legal Aspects of Buying a Home
• Home Inspection
• Home Insurance
• Down Payment Assistance Programs

Graduates of this course receive a certificate that grants access to down payment assistance, Mass Housing Partnership’s ONE Mortgage, MassHousing mortgages, HUD mortgages, home ownership lotteries, and lender first time homebuyer mortgages. The certificate is accepted statewide for first time homebuyer education and is valid for 3 years.

Registration for the class is $50/person. By registering for the class, you are registering for three (3) sessions. You must attend all three sessions in order to receive your certificate of completion. By taking this class you also have access to unlimited one-on-one pre-purchase counseling sessions at Allston Brighton CDC to assist you through your personal homebuying experience.
