Frank Waln, a Sicangu Lakota hip-hop artist and music producer, will share his perspective on how music can promote healing and unity during his year-long residency at ArtLab. He will be performing an intimate show featuring songs and stories.
Born and raised in the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, Frank Waln uses his music to address social issues affecting the Native community and promote healing. He will collaborate with students and staff from the Harvard University Native American Program (HUNAP) to create a gathering that brings together Native and non-native members of the Harvard community through music and healing.
Wókiksuye with Frank Waln: Honoring Our Ancestors and Relatives Through Music is part of ArtsThursdays, a series of free, public arts programs supported by the Harvard University Committee on the Arts (HUCA). This performance is part of Frank Waln’s residency (2023-24).
RSVP is requested. This event is free and open to all. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
