Event Details

Gallery A2 is ecstatic to present Absurdity, a group exhibit comprised of work that embraces the absurd in the face of today’s reality.

A group exhibtion where creative practioners have embraced the absurd in the face of today’s reality of declining public trust, polarization, incivility, personal attacks, societal disengagement and disillusionment, rampant misinformation, lies, and alternative facts.

¯_(ツ)_/¯

Artists resist oppression through expressions of sorrow and whimsy, splendor and repugnance, profundity and silliness. MakingArt has the power to overcome complicity, apathy, and indifference — an antidote for slop and banal escapism. By its very nature, the creation of art—defining and expressing personal meaning when the universe seems to have none—both embraces and rebels against the absurd.
