What’s it about?
When I am creatively low energy, I love trying new mediums to shake off the dust. During one low period, I took a mosaics class at the Worcester Art Museum, and I had so much fun creating the graphic shapes of my design out of the somewhat unpredictable tile shards! The puzzle of finding (or cutting) the right piece for every inch of the canvas was incredibly meditative.

Where is your favorite public art piece in the area?
I love Worcester’s city-wide collection of murals!

Who is your favorite Boston-area artist to follow?
Eben Haines

What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
Making soup, exploring antique stores, or playing a very bad round of disc golf!

Favorite food spot in in Allston, Brighton or the surrounding area?
I let my food-loving friends guide me! My latest recommendation was hot pot at Spring Shabu-Shabu.

What have you learned about your creative practice in recent years?
It never goes away, it just takes different shapes.

What is a piece of advice you would give to your past self as a young artist?
Look at all the art you can, as often as you can! And let yourself be surprised.

You’re hosting book club next, what is everyone reading?
Wildwood by Colin Meloy – KidLit is good for the heart, and we’ll compare it to the stop motion film adaptation coming out later this year!

What is your dream project to work on?
Whatever keeps me inspired next!
